| A Trust Deed / Protected Trust Deed (PTD) is a form of government legislation to help people write off debts that they cannot afford to repay. To qualify for a Trust Deed / Protected Trust Deed (PTD) you must live in Scotland, owe over £10,000 and be able to afford £150 or more towards your debts. You pay a fixed amount for a set timescale (usually 36 months), after which time any remaining debt is written off and you walk away debt free.
